I  would love help. this whole debit and credit thing has me crazy I know once I get it down I will be OK with the rest of it but it is just this first part

If you want to call me 850-995-7175 or send me your number and I can call you. I tend to learn better by talking to someone not just out of the book.

If you can I thank you. I am up and about at strange times of the day and night. I live alone both my kids are grown and out of the house so you would never be disturbing anyone. On top of this accounting class I have Film and Society so sometimes I might wake up at 2 am and watch a movie that I have to write a paper on.

I know I am not crazy but I must have been to go to college at the young age of 48. I started in 2007 October and am going for a BA. I will be 50 this year and hope to graduate with a BA and maybe then go on for my Masters. I wish I had taken school more seriously when I was younger.

Thank you in advance for your offer of help.

Debby

Debby,
This is very important – remember that, in accounting, Debit means “on the left” – and that's all it means, not increase, decrease, good or bad.  Credit means “on the right”– and that's all it means, not increase, decrease, good or bad.
Beyond that, assets and expenses increase with debits (on the left) and normally have debit balances.  Liabilities, Owners Equity and Income increase with credits (on the right) and normally have credit balances.  Best Wishes!
