This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 09, 2009:

I wish it were better. I wake up about every 4 hours so my sleep is not consistant. I would be awake for a hour or so and then go back to bed for another 4 or so hours. The good thing about it though is since I am in college online I can do school work.

Posted on Jul 16th, 2009 by debbychico : Seeker debbychico
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 16, 2009:

Even though we live in a world where everything is instant what I want right now could be many things but I wish we could slow down a little bit. The world is moving to fast and most people can not keep up. Just dealing with our everyday lives we do not have the option of keeping up with other things. It is time to get back to our roots , slow down and enjoy life.

I think my self esteem is good most of the time of course we all have those other days that we doubt ourselfs. But even on those bad days you just know inside that it will pass by the morning. You do not let it get you down just because you are having one bad day.

Well many things actually. I can look out at the garden or look at an old bicycle with vines intertwined in the spokes of the wheels and it makes a cool picture. I can look at my dog and cat curled up together on the couch. Everything has an inspiration when you look at them from different angles and perspectives.

What would it be like to be blind?

Posted on Jul 26th, 2009 by debbychico : Seeker debbychico
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 26, 2009:

I do not know if I can answer this correctly but I might actually come close. I never needed glasses when I was a kid. But as I got older I needed them for reading and driving. Last year and every 3 months or so I get this problem. I started college in 2007 and spent 100 percent more time on the computer than before and I spend at least 10 hours a day on the computer and normally more than that now.

I felt like I was going blind I started with not being able to read the computer screen at all the light hurt my eyes. I went to the doctor and they said my pupils were not dialiateing  correctly., I  had to adjust my schedule . I could not stand the light or sun my eyes were horrible. The only way I could function was walking around with my eyes closed. Since I lived in a small area it was easy to keep my eyes closed and find my way around. I knew where everything was and at some point I did not even need to feel my way. My condition is still not corrected and I sometimes go through a period where I can not see. I have to stay inside in the dark . I can not even watch TV because from one sceen to the next it goes from light to dark and my eyes can not adjust and it is actual pain.

I do not know if being blind from birth or somehow going blind later in life is better. But I am lucky in that I have had sight for most of my life and if I lost it now it would be able to think I am closeing  my eyes and the visions are right there in my head. So i have seen them then lost them. If you have ever watched "The Mask" and saw how the blind girl knows a person by feeling their face and at the same time show a blind girl how to imagine what cold is (Blue) what heat is (red) .

I have been lucky enough to have had sight most of my life and it would be very depressing for me to lose it now. I love watching my garden grow, the birds nesting, my chickens and rabbits, but I can close my eyes right now and know where I am going.

I think that blindness is both a blessing and a curse..

What would it be like to be deaf?

Posted on Jul 27th, 2009 by debbychico : Seeker debbychico
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 27, 2009:

I do not know what it would be like to be deaf although I do know that silence can be overpowering. I get up in the morning and open my curtain then I can see the garden It is both quiet and peaceful. Now if I close my eyes I have no sight but the silence is loud. We can go back to the old saying "If a tree falls in the woods but no one is there does it make a sound?"
